Funding in Africa: Challenges & Opportunities

March 18 - 20, 2014, Downtown Conference Center, New York, New York

About the 2014 Conference

Africa is a vibrant and dynamic continent that presents both challenges and opportunities for philanthropy to make a difference. Funders cannot hope to make an impact without continuing to learn about new developments and creating strong professional networks.

Since 2000 the Africa Grantmakers' Affinity Group (AGAG) has supported robust, responsive and effective philanthropy in support of African communities. The 2014 Conference will explore current trends in Africa and in philanthropy and how these development impact the work of funders working for positive changes across the Continent.

The conference is open to funders including individual donors and staff and trustees of philanthropy institutions acting primarily as funders. Development or fundraising staff are not eligible to attend.

This conference is a unique opportunity for funders to:

• understand how their philanthropy fits within the overall context of Africa funding

• identify common interests and explore partnerships and collaborations that can help them to leverage current resources

• be a part of efforts to grow and strengthen resources dedicated to Africa

If you are interested in making a difference in Africa this is one event you do not want to miss!
